CCPT, a division of the Calvert County Department of Community Resources, provides local public transportation throughout Calvert County. CCPT operates two fixed routes and four deviated fixed routes to link residents with major shopping, medical and employment centers as well as with public services in the County. CCPT also provides demand response transportation for seniors and those with qualifying disabilities, and ADA service around the fixed route service.

VanGO is a countywide transportation system that offers public transportation routes that operate on fixed schedules (with deviated-fixed in rural areas) and more specialized transportation services for those persons unable to use the public transportation system. VanGO links residents throughout the county with major shopping, medical, and employment centers, as well as the College of Southern Maryland and recreational facilities. Specialized services include SSTAP, a demand-responsive curb-to-curb, general purpose transportation for senior citizens and persons with disabilities; ADA complementary paratransit service around fixed-routes; Medical Assistance (MA) transportation for MA clients; Department of Social Services (DSS) demand-response for social service clients; and a dialysis subscription service.

In St. Mary's County, public transportation is operated by the county's Department of Public Works and Transportation through a fixed-route, and demand-response transportation service. There are 12 fixed routes: Leonardtown-Lexington Park (two routes), Leonardtown Loop, Charlotte Hall, Great Mills Loop, Calvert Connection, Rt. 5 Express, Northern Route, Southern Route, California/Great Mills Eve, Charlotte Hall Eve and Leonardtown Eve Route. These public transportation routes are also served by complementary ADA service. The portion of the demand-response service that is funded by the Statewide Special Transportation Program (SSTAP) meets the needs of the elderly and persons with disabilities in the entire county. This program also provides transportation for the St. Mary's County Department of Aging nutrition centers.
