MTA CATCHES BIEBER FEVER
Extended service for Maryland State Fair concert
BALTIMORE, MD (September 1, 2010) - The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will extend Light Rail service hours when Bieber Fever hits the Maryland State Fair.
International pop/R&B phenomenon Justin Beiber is scheduled to perform a sold-out concert at the Maryland State Fair in Timonium on Sunday, September 5, 2010. The concert begins at 7 PM. To ease traffic congestion, MTA will provide extended “Bieber Fever” hours on Light Rail in the morning and evening.
On Sunday, September 5th only, Light Rail will open at 7 AM and operate every 60 minutes until 11 AM when the normal schedule begins. From 8 PM until Midnight, service will operate every 30 minutes. The last trains will depart Timonium at Midnight.
Bieber Fever extended service will make all regular stops between Cromwell Station/Glen Burnie and Hunt Valley, including Timonium Station at the doorstep of the fairgrounds. There will be no extended service to BWI Marshall Airport, BWI Business Park or Penn Station.
The fare for Light Rail is $1.60 each way ($0.55 for Seniors and people with disabilities with valid identification). Tickets are available at ticket vending machines in each station. All riders must have a valid ticket while on board. Concert goers can speed their trip home by purchasing a roundtrip ticket.
