FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MTA Holiday Train Garden at Mondawmin Metro Station
Santa Claus will greet children and give out candy canes
Baltimore, MD (November 17, 2009) - The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites the public to kick-off its Subway City Holiday Train Garden at the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station on December 5, 2009.
Kids young and old can experience the magic of the interactive train garden, which features a four-car subway train moving around a cityscape, platform, zoo, park, neighborhoods and a construction site. Spectators are encouraged to participate in the fun by pushing interactive buttons and watching objects move in the train garden. Also, this year’s display increased with an additional car track, cars and more buildings have been added as well. To bring even more holiday cheer, Santa Claus will pay a visit to Subway City to greet children and share candy canes.
The holiday display was designed and built by MTA Metro Subway employees with materials and time donated by the MTA and several contractors. MTA volunteers will be on hand to operate the trains in the garden on December 5th, 12th and 19th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The display is located on the Mezzanine Level of the Mondawmin Metro Station and is available for public viewing during normal Metro Subway operating hours.
