FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MTA And Dunkin’ Donuts Partner for Holiday Food Drive
(Baltimore, MD), November 19, 2009 – The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) in a continuing partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts will sponsor a food drive in support of the Maryland Food Bank on Monday, November 23, 2009 from 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the Timonium Light Rail stop. The Maryland Food Bank will accept non-perishable food items, personal products and monetary donations to benefit families in need. A list of the most needed items is attached. Dunkin’ Donuts will give away free samples of their breakfast sandwich to anyone who donates, while supplies last.
“MTA employees value the relationships we have with our customers and communities, said Paul J. Wiedefeld. “We take pride in supporting the communities we serve. We encourage everyone to join us at this food drive as the needs of many have never been greater.”
Our Partners:
The Maryland Food Bank, an affiliate of America’s Second Harvest and the only food bank serving the entire State, was founded in 1979. The Maryland Food Bank supplies free food for over 50,000 Marylanders each week who otherwise would go hungry or not eat enough, including families with children, the elderly, the homeless, the homebound, low-income workers, the recently unemployed, and people with AIDS and other health problems. Dunkin’ Donuts, which started in 1950, is the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world.
