MARC Ticketing Policies
(Last Updated 07/2008)
ATTENTION: DO NOT LAMINATE YOUR MARC TICKET SINCE THIS PROCESS WILL DESTROY YOUR TICKET!
Ticket Inspections
Passengers must allow conductors or any authorized representative to inspect all tickets or cash fare receipts upon request. Tickets must be removed from any carrying case if requested by the conductor and, if presented after date of expiration, must be surrendered. Passengers without valid tickets are subject to removal from train.
Ticket Forfeiture
Alteration or mutilation of any ticket, or obtaining a ticket deceptively for the purpose of fraudulent transportation will result in forfeiture of ticket.
Lost Tickets
Lost, stolen, or damaged MARC tickets are neither refunded nor replaced.
Refunds
One-way tickets are non-refundable. Weekly tickets are refundable if returned no later than 11:59 PM the Friday prior to the effective week. Monthly tickets are refundable, based on calendar days, as follows:
Prior to effective month = 100%
Days 1 – 5 = 75%
Days 6 – 10 = 50%
Remainder of the month = 0%
For more information about refunds, please call MTA Customer Service at 410 – 767 - 3999 or 410 - 539 - 3497 TTY.
Group Tickets
To qualify for the Group Rate, the number of any group must contain a minimum of 10 passengers and cannot exceed 25, NO EXCEPTIONS. Group travel may be excluded from rush hour trains due to limited seating capacity. Customers must notify the MARC Group Sales Desk no later than TWO weeks prior to the date of travel at 410-454-7010 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM ONLY, Monday through Friday. Groups MUST call the MARC Group Sales Desk AND receive confirmation in order to receive the group rate. Group tickets are NOT issued at MARC or AMTRAK ticket locations without prior arrangements through the MARC Group Sales Desk.
Due to budget cuts the MARC Train Service will no longer be able to provide service for groups attending an Orioles baseball game.
