MTA NEW YEAR’S EVE & NEW YEAR’S DAY SCHEDULE
BALTIMORE, MD (DECEMBER 26, 2012) – The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) encourages New Year’s Eve revelers to ring in 2013 by riding MTA to Baltimore's Inner Harbor fireworks celebration.
With tens of thousands of people expected to attend the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display, the MTA makes it easy to get downtown while avoiding expected traffic and parking hassles. Metro Subway and Light Rail are your best options. Both modes will drop you off within easy walking distance of all of the action. Music starts at 9:00 p.m. in the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, while the choreographed fireworks show will start at the stroke of midnight.
The MTA will operate the following schedules on Monday, December 31, 2012 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
LOCAL BUS: December 31, 2012 regular schedule. January 1, 2013 Sunday/Holiday schedule.
LIGHT RAIL: December 31, 2012 regular schedule with extended service for the fireworks display. (Light Rail will operate until one hour after the fireworks display.) January 1, 2013 Sunday/Holiday schedule.
METRO SUBWAY: December 31, 2012 regular schedule with extended service for the fireworks display. (Metro Subway will operate until one hour after the fireworks display.) January 1, 2013 Sunday/Holiday schedule.
MARC TRAIN: December 31, 2012 early departures.
January 1, 2013 no service. COMMUTER BUS: December 31, 2012 early departures.
January 1, 2013 no service. Note: Bus route 201 will operate a Weekend/Holiday schedule on New Year’s Day.
MOBILITY: December 31, 2012 regular schedule.
January 1, 2013 Sunday/Holiday schedule, standing rides are cancelled; customers must call to reschedule. Call center is open regular hours each day. Certification office closed December 31, 2012 and January 1, 2013.
