BALTIMORE, MD (OCTOBER 30, 2012) - The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will operate limited service starting at noon on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 for Local Bus, Metro Subway and Mobility/Paratransit.
“MTA crews monitored road and track conditions, catenary wires and power supplies for possible damage the last 48 hours,” said MTA Administrator Ralign T. Wells. “We are confident that MTA Local Bus, Metro Subway and Mobility equipment and facilities are ready to resume limited service today. Local Bus customers can expect some diversions as city crews work to clear the streets of storm related debris.”
Light Rail crews are monitoring the line for flooding and downed trees and report no major issues. Due to the high winds, crews removed all at-grade crossing gate arms in order to protect the equipment and the public. Light Rail service will resume Wednesday to allow time for the equipment to be reinstalled.
MARC Train and Commuter bus will be suspended for a second day. MTA will announce a timetable for restoration of that service later today.
