Friday, January 25, 2013

BALTIMORE, MD (JANUARY 25, 2013) – The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) encourages people to use public transportation when attending the “Super Bowl Sendoff Rally” Monday, January 28, 2013 at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and the Baltimore Ravens jointly announced the rally to be held at the Baltimore Inner Harbor Amphitheater on Monday, Jan. 28. Fans are encouraged to attend the free event to cheer on the Super Bowl-bound Ravens before they leave for New Orleans, La., to take on the San Francisco 49ers.

This mid-day event is sure to attract thousands of people to the Inner Harbor and the MTA makes it easy to get downtown with a number of safe and affordable options to avoid the traffic and the cost of parking in the downtown area.

Metro Subway and Light Rail are your best options. Both modes will drop you off within easy walking distance of all of the action. During the rally, local bus routes 1, 61 and 64 will be diverted between Conway and Pratt Streets.

The fun starts at 10:30 a.m. on the Amphitheater’s main stage, featuring Faded Image, the Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders, Baltimore’s Marching Ravens and team mascot Poe. At 11:30 a.m. the rally will officially begin with members of the Ravens’ 2000 Super Bowl XXXV team in attendance. The current Ravens players and coaches are scheduled to arrive at 12:15 p.m. At the conclusion of the rally, the team departs for New Orleans.
