Track Your Free Ride on the Holiday Bus with the Transit App
BALTIMORE, MD (November 26, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) will bring back its annual holiday tradition of providing free rides on the Holiday Bus. The Holiday Bus will operate weekdays on CityLink and LocalLink bus routes beginning Monday, November 29, and continuing through Friday December 17. While Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves will not be on board this year as they are busy preparing for the holiday season, passengers will still be able to enjoy holiday music during their free ride.
“MDOT MTA is thrilled to bring back the Holiday Bus as more riders return to transit,” said MDOT MTA Administrator Holly Arnold. “We hope that reviving this tradition will spread holiday cheer throughout the city and show our loyal customers how much we appreciate them.”
DOT MTA customers can track the Holiday Bus by using the Transit app, which provides real-time information for Local Bus, MARC Train and Commuter Bus. For information on the Transit app and how to download, go to mta.maryland.gov/transit. For clues on each location for the Holiday Bus, customers can follow MDOT MTA on Facebook at facebook.com/mtamaryland and on Twitter @mtamaryland.
To help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect our passengers and our team members, MDOT MTA reminds all riders that face coverings are required when riding transit. Riders must keep the face covering on for the entire duration of each trip. The face covering requirement applies for all passengers, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
MDOT MTA operates LocalLink and commuter buses, Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink, MARC Train service and a comprehensive Mobility paratransit system. MDOT MTA’s goal is to provide safe, efficient and reliable transit across Maryland with world-class customer service.
