Winter Weather Service Modifications

When winter weather strikes, the Maryland Transit Administration does everything possible to keep our scheduled routes running as smoothly as possible. Buses follow normal routes as long as the streets are safe for travel. When road conditions deteriorate, we may have to temporarily detour from our regular route until roads/areas are treated and safe for driving.

Which bus routes are affected first?

The Maryland Transit Administration will implement route modifications in phases, including restricting service to major roads or suspending service on routes,  as weather conditions warrant.   Phase 1 routes are implemented first, followed by Phase 2 and Phase 3.  During winter weather events, riders will experience increased travel and wait times due to road.
