Help MDOT MTA Celebrate the Holidays with the Annual Toys for Tots Drive at Washington Union Station

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MARC Train Partners with City of Brunswick for Frederick County Collection

BALTIMORE, MD (November 29, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is proud to support the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program for the 28th year. MARC Train is expanding its support this year by participating in two events: a holiday toy drive Saturday, December 3, at the MARC station in Brunswick, Frederick County; and the annual toy collection drive at Washington Union Station on Wednesday, December 14, and Thursday, December 15.

“MDOT MTA is proud of our long-time support for the Toys for Tots drive,” said MDOT MTA Administrator Holly Arnold. “This is a popular annual tradition for our MARC Train riders, and we appreciate their generosity as we work to share the holiday spirit with those in need.”

MARC Train is partnering with the City of Brunswick for a toy collection during the city’s annual holiday event on Saturday, December 3. The celebration includes Santa train rides and a parade, and culminates with a tree lighting. Attendees may drop off toys between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the MARC station. Toys collected will benefit Frederick County Toys for Tots.

Volunteers from MARC Train, Amtrak, Alstom Transport Services and the U.S. Marines will be on hand 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. December 14 and December 15, to collect new unwrapped toys, cash and checks as passengers board or exit their MARC Train at Washington Union Station. The collection will take place outside Gates A and B.

Those interested in donating also have the option to donate online through the Virtual Toybox at toysfortots.org. Donations also can be made at local area toy drop-off centers listed on the Toys for Tots website.
