Declare Independence from Parking Hassles and Get to the Fun Quickly and Easily When You Download the Free CharmPass and Transit Apps
BALTIMORE, MD (July 2, 2024) – This July 4th, whether you’re headed for fireworks, a parade or a food festival or two, consider the safe, convenient and reliable transportation provided by the Maryland Transit Administration.
“The Baltimore region has a lot to offer on the Fourth of July, and taking transit is the best way to experience it,” said Maryland Transit Administrator Holly Arnold. “Using the real-time arrival information on the Transit app and the CharmPass fare payment app you’ll have easy options to plan and pay for your rides.”
The Transit app is a free smartphone application for viewing bus and rail vehicle locations in real time, predicted arrival times, step-by-step navigation to stops, and alerts regarding service disruptions. CharmPass is a mobile phone fare payment app that stores transit fare on your phone so you always have it handy, and with its CharmFlex option, the app even offers a discount off regular fares.
On Thursday, July 4, Maryland Transit Administration services will operate on the following schedules:
Local Bus: Sunday/Holiday schedule
Metro Subway: Sunday/Holiday schedule
Light Rail: Sunday/Holiday schedule; Light Rail will operate one hour after the city fireworks display.
MARC Train: Saturday schedule on the Penn Line only. No Brunswick or Camden Line service. On Friday, July 5, all MARC lines will run on the “R” schedule.
Commuter Bus:
No service on July 4 except Commuter Bus #201, which will operate on the Weekend/Holiday “S” schedule.
July 5th - All Commuter Bus Routes will operate on "S" Schedule. Only trips with an S above them will operate.
Mobility:
Transportation Service - Holiday Schedule. All standing rides are canceled. Customers must call to reschedule trips for July 4.
Mobility Call Center: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mobility Certification and Customer Care Offices: Closed
Transit Information Contact Center: Closed
Mondawmin Customer Service Center Booth: Closed
Certification Office at 6 St. Paul Street: Closed
MTA Transit Store: Closed
