Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center
The Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center provides a central off-street location at the MD 193 / MD 650 intersection for buses to safely pick up and discharge passengers and allow them to connect with other routes quickly without risking traffic conflicts to riders and operators. Service is currently offered by Prince Georges County, Montgomery County, WMATA and University of Maryland. The Transit Center is equipped to accommodate 12 buses and will provide a convenient transfer point to the future Purple Line.
The Transit Center serves 11 bus routes that provide transit service to 12,000 passengers daily at the Takoma / Langley Crossroads. This Transit Center is the largest non-Metrorail station transfer point in the Washington region. Prior to the finalization of the transit center, pickup points for the four operators were dispersed at various locations and required passengers to cross very busy and highly congested streets. Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center has successfully centralized these pickup points and made travel safer for local transit riders. The operations and maintenance of the facility is overseen by the Maryland Transit Administration.
